The acquisition of Lacey Imaging (Forked River, NJ) prompted a Laitek migration of all data from a GE IW PACS to UR’s SDA archive, providing a blueprint for storage configuration going forward.

Key Challenges:

  • Decommissioning the GE IW PACS and consolidating a 147,437 net inventory of studies to the SDA archive.
  • Evaluating original studies for proprietary data elements for potential migration
  • Maintaining ongoing PACS functionality throughout the migration on an extremely unstable legacy system with limited vendor support

Outcome:
In addition to the standard comprehensive Migratek migration services, the project also included partitioning a unique Lacey Center data space in the SDA. The project was accomplished in four months with a 99.94% verified migration success rate.

Customer Comment:
“Laitek really takes the headache of migration out of the whole merger structure.”-Judy Gronlund-Jacob, Manager PACS and Teleradiology, University Radiology
